BUILDING BRIDGES
'Building Bridges' explores the experience of being a British Mauritian and growing up experiencing and embracing Mauritian culture whilst being brought up in London. This project aims to showcase the two very distinct sides of a British Mauritian, with imagery of both Mauritius and South London. This experience is common for people in the UK who are also born from immigrant parents in the way that many people experiencing multiple cultures aim to build bridges and connections between the cultures that influence them. Many of those born from immigrant families have a very unique and interesting culture born from the influences that have surrounded them.
'Building Bridges' aims to celebrate this and show the beauty of embracing Mauritian culture and how this has influenced my life growing up in London through a series of collages of Mauritius and London together.
